Art imitates life – Ohio train derailment eerily ‘predicted’ on Netflix
It appears that the Netflix movie “White Noise” incredibly foresaw the Ohio train derailment earlier this month, as both scary events feature some striking similarities.
As he recalled to People, Ben Ratner, a resident of East Palestine, Ohio, and an extra in the film “White Noise,” found the situation truly terrifying.
“Talk about art imitating life,” the 37-year-old father-of-four told the outlet.
In the 2022 film, Jack Gladney (Adam Driver), a Hitler studies professor and husband to Babette (Greta Gerwig), finds himself in an unforeseen situation when his small town is abruptly thrown into chaos after a train derailment that releases toxic substances into the air. Putting aside all personal concerns, he must do whatever it takes to keep his family safe during this hazardous event.
“And you can just about drive yourself crazy thinking about how uncanny the similarities are between what’s happening now and in that movie,” Ratner said.
This gripping film, inspired by the 1985 novel of the same name, eerily mirrors a tragedy that occurred just weeks ago in East Palestine, Ohio.
