Only a small percentage of people believe that they have never encountered an angel. Many individuals, however, insist on having had such an encounter.
There are numerous accounts of people who say they have seen angels. Some report seeing a shining light, while others describe a being with wings. Others say they have heard the voice of an angel, often giving them guidance or instructions.
What these people have experienced is open to interpretation. Some may believe that they truly did encounter an angel, while others may think it was just their imagination. There is no way to know for sure what happened, but these stories are fascinating nonetheless.
Jackie B. claims that she was saved from potentially catastrophic injuries on two occasions by her guardian angel. According to her account, this protective power was really felt and heard in her body. Both incidents occurred when she was in the first grade at school.
On a beautiful day in January, Jackie was having fun with her family at a well-known sledding slope. The young girl opted to sled down the hill’s steepest section. She shut her eyes and started down the hill.
“I apparently hit someone going down and I was spinning out of control. I was heading for the metal guardrail. I didn’t know what to do,” says Jackie. “I suddenly felt something push my chest down. I came within less than a half-inch of the rail but didn’t hit it. I could have lost my nose.”
During her birthday celebration at school, Jackie was running across the playground to put her crown on a bench when she was tripped by three boys.
Metal items and wood chips were strewn about the area. Jackie was thrown through the air, and something slammed into her just below her eye.
“But I felt something pull me back when I fell,” Jackie says. “The teachers said that they saw me sort of fly forward then fly back at the same time. As they hurried me to the nurse’s office, I heard an unfamiliar voice keep telling me, ‘Don’t worry. I’m here. God doesn’t want anything to happen to his baby.'”
Feeling utterly hopeless is more painful than any injury or sickness, and it might lead one to thoughts of suicide.
Dean S. was going through a divorce at the age of 26, and he was in excruciating agony. The prospect of being separated from his two young daughters was nearly more than he could endure. But one stormy night, Dean was given new hope.
On the night of July 10, 1989, Douglas was a derrickman on a drill rig. Looking down from the 128-foot derrick that night, he had serious thoughts of taking his life.
“My family and I have strong beliefs in Jesus, but it was hard not to contemplate suicide,” recalls Dean. “In the worst thunderstorm I’d ever seen, I climbed the derrick to take my position to pull the pipe out of the hole we were drilling.”
His coworkers urged him to reconsider, claiming that they’d rather take a break than risk someone’s life. Dean paid no attention to their warnings and began to climb.
“Lightning flashed all around me, thunder boomed. I cried to God to take me. If I couldn’t have my family, I didn’t want to live … but I couldn’t take my own life in suicide. God spared me. I don’t know how I survived that night, but I did.
“A couple of weeks later, I bought a small Bible and traveled to the Peace River Hills, where my family has lived for so long. I sat down on top of one of the green hills and started to read. I had such a warm feeling enter into me as the sun parted through the clouds and shone on me. It was raining all around me, but I was dry and warm in my small spot on top of that hill.”
He says that these instances have made his life better. He met his current partner and became smitten. They began a family together, which includes two of his children. “Thank you, Lord Jesus, and the angels you sent to tap my heart that day!” he adds.
Whether or not angels exist is a matter of personal belief. However, there are many people who believe that they have had a brush with the divine. Have you ever had an Anglic experience? Let us know in the comments.
