‘Fortune Teller’ wanted in PA arrested in Florida

After several weeks of search and investigation, deputies at the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit finally made a breakthrough in their hunt for Alexis Candy Mitchell, better known as “Psychic Novena.” Last night was when they got lucky.

After tracing Mitchell to Florida, Deputies requested assistance from the Delray Beach Police Department. Fortunately, their investigation concluded when Officers located her at a residence in Delray Beach.

Mitchell was being sought after by the police due to her involvement in a fraudulent fortune-telling scam that we reported last month, where she pocketed more than $10,000.00 from an unsuspecting victim.

The North Huntingdon Police recently filed charges against Mitchell, after a local man accused her of taking his money claiming to provide spiritual services such as psychic readings. She is being charged with felony theft by deception-false impression and misdemeanor fortune telling.

Besides her present allegations, Mitchell was likewise wanted for a prior warrant of nonappearance from court to answer charges levied in 2019. Subsequently, she is accused of felony identity theft, counterfeiting as well as fortune telling.

Sheriff James Albert says “As for now, Mitchell’s future is clear to include incarceration. She was taken to the Palm Beach County Detention Center where she will await extradition back to Pennsylvania.

A special thank you to the Officers from the Delray Beach Police Department for their quick response!

We would also like to thank the North Huntingdon Police and the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office. Great job by all involved!”
