While on duty, a security guard stumbled upon an ethereal spirit that is rumored to be the same girl honored in Pulau Ubin.
Recently resurfaced on various platforms, Night Shift Horror posted a clip of an apparition in a rustic medieval gown passing through the rain.Â
The grainy footage was reportedly taken by a security guard who wanted to notify his supervisor that he couldn’t complete the rounds for the night because of heavy rain.
According to the page, a specter of an 18-year-old German girl had been lingering on the island since her tragic death in 1914. She was attempting to evade capture from British soldiers during World War I when she fell off a cliff and perished.
At the time, she was one of two German families living on the island and tending to coffee plantations.
As a tribute to her memory, Chinese laborers built an impromptu shrine at Ketam Mountain Bike Park after locating her body. It is not uncommon for visitors to the site to leave makeup and Barbie dolls in honor of her life.
