Jamie Foxx made his first public appearance since being hospitalized in April 2022 for a serious undisclosed medical condition. He received the Vanguard Award at an event on Monday and hinted at how close he came to dying, saying he “saw the tunnel” but not the light. Foxx said he couldn’t have walked on stage six months ago and joked he’s not a clone when addressing rumors. He cherishes every minute now and has a new appreciation for life and his art after watching movies during recovery. TMZ initially reported Foxx’s “medical emergency” in April while filming a movie. Though details remain private, he provided an update in August thanking people for prayers and support during his “unexpected dark journey.” While the full extent is unknown, it sounds as if Foxx narrowly survived a life-threatening health scare and feels lucky to be alive.
