Mystery in Patagonia as two local youths capture video of a strange creature swimming in Lake Nahuel Huapi last Sunday evening around 8pm. Manuel, 23, and his friend were kayaking when they noticed large waves and something big moving underwater. They started recording the event from a safe distance.
While they could not identify the animal, its size and movement reminded them of local legends about Nahuelito – a mythological lake monster likened to a dinosaur-era plesiosaur that has provoked intrigue for decades. Manuel admitted the brief sighting was “impressive” and extraordinary.
