Retired US Air Force officers claim a UFO disabled a dummy nuclear missile warhead during a test launch in 1964. Lieutenant Bob Jacobs and Major Florenze Mansmann viewed video footage of the incident which was later confiscated by plain-clothed CIA agents.
The video shows a saucer-shaped craft circling and shooting beams of light at the warhead to disable it. Luis Elizondo, former head of the Pentagon’s UFO program, acknowledged seeing the video per a recent report.
The incident occurred on September 15, 1964, at a military site in Big Sur, California that was capturing footage of an Atlas missile test. The disc-shaped craft was described as having a glowing, rotating lower section.
Mansmann’s 1983 letter recounting the event matches Elizondo’s description. A Senate investigator said Elizondo confirmed the video’s existence and details in a briefing. The recording itself is now missing after the Pentagon allegedly destroyed Elizondo’s files in 2017.
Radar data from the time shows an unidentified object near the warhead, possibly debris or countermeasures. But it may have been the UFO based on the secretive, classified nature of the event.
The alleged incident fits a pattern of UFOs interfering with nuclear weapons according to some UFO experts. The Pentagon and CIA have not commented on the reported event or video.
