The House of Representatives intends to launch an investigation into allegations that the US government is concealing UFOs, prompted by claims made by a whistleblower former intelligence official, David Grusch.
James Comer, the Republican chair of the House oversight committee, confirmed that a hearing would be held to examine Grusch’s assertions that the government has been collecting non-human spacecraft for decades.
The hearing date is yet to be determined, but it is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Tim Burchett and Anna Paulina Luna, Republican members of Congress, will lead the investigation.
The witness list has not been finalized, so it remains uncertain whether Grusch will testify publicly.

The House oversight committee’s spokesman emphasized the importance of transparency and oversight in relation to unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) and mentioned the creation of the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office to study UAPs. Grusch, in an interview with journalists Leslie Kean and Ralph Blumenthal, revealed that fragments and entire non-human craft have been recovered by the US government and defense contractors.
He described the material as “of exotic origin” and indicated that it implied non-human intelligence.
Another US intelligence official, Jonathan Grey, corroborated the existence of “exotic materials.”
Grusch filed a complaint with the intelligence community inspector general, containing classified information. The existence of the complaint may impact the oversight committee investigation.
Nick Pope, a former investigator of UFOs for the British Ministry of Defence, expressed that the ongoing investigation might limit the extent to which the allegations can be discussed during the hearing.
Grusch’s claims emerged amidst a series of credible sightings and reports over the past two years, including the Pentagon’s release of a report on unidentified anomalous phenomena and the establishment of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office.
The office’s director, Sean Kirkpatrick, stated earlier this year that no credible evidence of extraterrestrial activity or off-world technology had been found so far.
