Bigfoot hunter Claudia Ackley was found dead in her Tennessee home on July 3rd, 2023. No foul play was suspected, it is thought that she died of a heart attack while her partner, Ed Brown, was on business. Claudia was a devoted mother of her two girls, and she dedicated her life to bringing validity to Bigfoot, her biggest concern being the safety and welfare of the public.
In 2018, soon after having a first-hand encounter with Bigfoot, Claudia approached the California Department of Fish and Wildlife about her sighting. The Department’s benign, patronizing response prompted Claudia to take action and sue the state of California to try and get Bigfoot recognized as a species. Her primary goal for taking her case to court was to force the State of California to take Bigfoot sightings seriously. She hoped to usher in protocols, insisting officers put aside personal bias to ensure sightings are properly investigated. Although her case was dismissed a few months later, she continued searching for open and accurate information about the elusive hairy man.
Claudia’s countless hours in the woods offered her definitive proof of Bigfoot’s existence. In 2014, while hiking in Washington State with her ex-husband, she witnessed a 5 ft tall Bigfoot in a tree. Locking eyes with it, there was no doubt in Claudias’ mind what she was looking at. To add to the validity of her story, she was able to cast a footprint the creature allegedly left behind. Claudia said her experience in the woods that day, changed her life, stating, “I realized at that point, looking at the creature, that there’s so much of life that we don’t know. Life is so beautiful, and I’m wasting my years,” Adding, “I lost 125 pounds and decided to get a divorce . . . It motivated me to chase my dreams and live my life.”

In the field of Bigfoot research, Claudia Ackley was a shining example of truth, courage, and exemplary service to her fellow man. Although she is no longer with us and her mission is accomplished here on earth, Claudia’s spirit will never be forgotten.
