A large pyramid standing in the desert near Monclova, Mexico has become a curiosity for locals and tourists alike. The builder of the pyramid, a farmer named Raymundo Corona, says its origins lie not in this world but another.
According to Raymundo, the pyramid project was commissioned by an alien named Herulayka over 40 years ago. He claims his first encounter with Herulayka occurred when his wife was near death during childbirth in 1983. In a vision, Raymundo pleaded with the alien and a superior being to spare his wife and newborn child. Miraculously both survived. Weeks later, Raymundo says Herulayka appeared to him in physical form and instructed him to construct a pyramid in the desert. Out of gratitude for his family’s lives, Raymundo agreed.
Despite lacking knowledge and skills, Raymundo somehow managed to build the 22-foot tall stone pyramid on the alien’s orders. Locals have accused Raymundo of inventing the story in order to attract tourists to the site. However, he has never charged admission to visit the mysterious pyramid.
Raymundo insists the alien and pyramid construction project were real. The pyramid is engraved with the message “Who am I? Where do I come from? Where am I going?” To this day, Raymundo enjoys recounting the story of the alien encounter and pyramid vision to visitors of the unusual desert monument.
