A brief but intriguing video recently surfaced online that appears to show a large, hairy creature wading through a river while carrying something in its arms. The clip was filmed along the Cass River in Michigan by an unnamed witness. In the silent, shaky footage, a brown, bipedal figure emerges in the middle of the river and slowly walks across to the other side.
The video quickly went viral in Bigfoot enthusiast circles, garnering thousands of views. Sasquatch investigator Kyle Shaw of the Rocky Mountain Sasquatch Organization (RSMO) analyzed the clip but admitted he could not definitively identify the figure.
“I’m not saying this is Bigfoot, and I’m not saying it isn’t,” Shaw said. “This is obviously shot with a cell phone at low resolution. It isn’t the greatest footage. It’s all we have to go with so you be the judge on what you think it is. I don’t know what it is.”
Shaw speculated that the creature appeared to be carrying a baby or infant on its left shoulder. However, other online commenters offered more skeptical takes, suggesting it could be a person wading in the river wearing waders and a mosquito net.
The short duration and poor quality of the video makes it nearly impossible to draw any definitive conclusions. Some argue that if it was truly a Bigfoot sighting, the person filming would have continued recording until the figure was out of sight. In the end, the controversial footage provides little in the way of answers, instead provoking more debate over the existence of this legendary ape-like beast said to roam the forests of North America.
