O’Brien Byrd of Martin City, Montana reported seeing strange lights in the early morning sky on Wednesday. Around 4:30am, Byrd noticed a large stationary light outside his bedroom window. He went onto his deck and saw a spherical object with four lights pulsating and changing colors. The object appeared to be hovering inside the atmosphere at an estimated 15,000-20,000 feet.
Byrd watched the object for over 20 minutes before using a spotting scope to get a closer look. The scope confirmed his observation of the four-light spherical object with rapidly changing colors. After going back inside briefly, Byrd then saw two more similar objects in the sky to the south. When he returned outside again, the objects had vanished.
While some may dismiss the sighting as an atmospheric anomaly or misidentified planet, Byrd insists it was not a star, comet, or known aircraft. MUFON has not yet commented, though a CUFOS expert suspects it may be Venus. Byrd and other residents insist they regularly see unexplained lights in the Flathead Valley skies. The sighting remains a mystery.
