Ring’s viral video contest, which offered a $1 million prize for video evidence of aliens, has produced some hilariously bizarre and creative submissions. Launched in October as part of Ring’s Halloween celebrations, the competition asked participants to capture “scientific evidence of extraterrestrials.”
However, most entries were anything but scientific. People got creative with costumes, puppets, and crude special effects to make funny, entertaining videos. Some submissions looked to be hastily assembled in just 5 minutes, while others were more elaborate productions.
One video simply showed someone holding up two alien toy action figures to the camera. Another had someone in an alien costume take over a person’s body and wear their Halloween candy bowl as a hat.
“There are so many videos I’ve seen that have been incredibly creative and fun,” said Ring’s Chief Revenue Officer Mimi Swain. She noted they have received many submissions that experts are reviewing to select a winner.
While we may have to wait to see the winning entry, it’s clear people got imaginative and humorous with their alien encounter videos for a chance at the $1 million prize. The contest brought out the comedy and creativity in people across the country.
